ABOUT CU-op:

In 1999, four area credit unions, Glass City FCU, Erie Shores CU (then OC FCU), Toledo Area Community Credit Union (then Toledo Area Catholic Credit Union) and Sun FCU, formed a limited liability company (GOTS LLC) to deploy ATMs in the Toledo area. The company was formed with the sole purpose of making no-surcharge* ATMs available for credit union members on the Alliance One network.

Alliance One is a regional, no surcharge ATM network for credit union members. Previously credit union members who wanted the convenience of utilizing Automatic Teller Machines typically had to pay a surcharge fee unless they visited their own credit union's ATM. Selective ATM surcharging presented the opportunity for credit unions to join together and allow credit union members to use any ATM on the Alliance One network without paying a surcharge.

Today credit union members in Northwest Ohio enjoy no surcharge access to ATMs. The Alliance One network enabled no surcharge access to a multitude of credit union ATMs in the Toledo area plus thousands more in the region and across the country.

In 2004, the cooperative was renamed CU-op LLC to better reflect its cooperative mission of serving credit unions. Today, CU-op owns, operates and promotes ATMs in local In & Out Mart and Sunoco locations.

*A surcharge is a fee instituted by the Automatic Teller Machine owner. Other transaction fees may apply in accordance to the particular financial institution issuing the cardholder's ATM/check card.
